GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


The Per Diem LICSW will provide supervision for staff as needed. The Per Diem LICSW will also use a person-centered approach to work with individuals who have complex behavioral health needs. The LICSW may work collaboratively with the client and outside providers to conduct assessment, crisis intervention, refer and access needed services including support groups, and when needed, provide short term counseling. The LICSW will provide consultation to ANSCM staff regarding different individual scenarios which do not necessarily elevate to enrollment in the EMHOT program. 


Requirements

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct initial assessments to determine consumers’ mental health status and needs. 
  • Provide short-term one-on-one counseling.
  • Utilize relationships with community partners such as designated COAs, Behavioral Health Centers/Network, and Emergency Responder’s to effectively provide resources for older adults.
  • • Utilize various therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
  • • Maintain timely and appropriate case documentation according to state regulations, agency standards, other funding sources, and EMHOT requirements.
  • • Reviews referrals/intakes and any additional specific documentation in a timely manner to screen and follow up on the referral as appropriate.
  • • Refers consumers to outside connections such as long-term counseling, psychotherapy, psychiatric nurse practitioner, support groups, or other services available.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in social work.
  • Licensed as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW).
  • Possesses knowledge of the aging process, community resources and social health intervention techniques desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to interpret, understand and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures as set forth by the Agency and the Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both orally and in writing, to small and large audiences.
  • Ability to conduct in-person assessments with consumers.
  • Ability to effectively cope with a variety of personalities and other stress provoking factors associated with a broad base of people and time constraints.
  • Knowledgeable about and compliant with all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to work with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential data according to HIPAA laws and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain computer security. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365


A valid driver's license and a legally insured and registered motor vehicle are required, a copy of the current license and registration will be on file in the personnel record.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing which permits communication with supervisor, co-workers, consumers, community professionals, and public.

Ability to talk on a phone, stand, walk, sit, and travel in the community.

Ability to travel throughout the state of Massachusetts in a private vehicle under all weather conditions including snow.
