What You Will Do

The Regional Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting the Sales and Field Support teams by assisting in the sales, design, and execution of all branded sales projects, including both Solution and Custom offerings. This role also serves as a backup for phone and email support to the Regional Airside Product Sales Manager.

You will work under the supervision of the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to provide engineered support, equipment selections, and pricing. You’ll develop detailed engineering documentation to communicate design, configuration, operation, and installation requirements to consulting engineers and customers. You’ll also manage assigned equipment projects to ensure they are executed profitably, accurately, and on time, in alignment with customer expectations and Johnson Controls standards.

How You Will Do It

  • Provide technical sales support to customers, branches, agents, and consulting engineers.

  • Efficiently and accurately turn around jobs with attention to product design integrity.

  • Offer pricing support, including competitive budget pricing for non-standard options.

  • Manage projects from concept to shipment, ensuring timely completion.

  • Support software training and onboarding for new agents/sales reps.

  • Deliver technical application support for Custom and Standard Air Handling Units.

  • Participate in customer visits and factory tours as needed.

  • Collaborate with Field Sales, manufacturing, engineering, and Customer Service to resolve order issues.

  • Develop technical documentation and application guidance for air handling systems.

  • Apply advanced problem-solving techniques and engineering principles.

  • Review and analyze engineering rules and documents.

  • Recommend cost-saving and value-engineering alternatives.

  • Provide technical direction to engineers, drafters, or technicians.

  • Prepare, check, and coordinate release of documentation for air handling products.

  • Apply concurrent engineering principles with manufacturing processes.

  • Maintain continuous improvement and teamwork in product development.

  • Track and report project progress with weekly updates.

  • Review specification compliance for inclusion in submittals.

  • Coordinate with factory Application Engineers and document project changes.

  • Manage project turnover between sales and order execution.

  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for submittal development.

  • Follow standardized submittal generation guidelines and option selection processes.

What We Look For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

  • 1–3 years of related work experience, including at least 1 year in HVAC equipment or a similar field.
