What We’re Looking For

Banner Engineering has an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work within a multidisciplinary team striving to maintain, improve, and design products within their discipline.

This position reports to the SR. Engineering Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Documenting product specifications, generating concept ideas, and leading concept selection
• Performing qualification tests to ensure conformance to specifications
• Developing details designs and documentation including tolerance analysis for collaboration with suppliers in the DFM Process
• Resolving part and process issues by working with production engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
• Working with global suppliers on qualifying mechanical parts made with a variety of processes.

Qualifications

 Required

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
• 0-5 years of mechanical engineering experience, new grads encouraged to apply
• Knowledge of solid modeling, preferably using Creo
• Ability to work on multiple projects and coordinate with multiple departments simultaneously

Preferred

• Working knowledge of fabrication processes, such as, plastic injection molding, machining, metal forming, die-casting, and laser cutting
• Experience designing plastic injection molded parts including analysis with mold flow
• Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and finite element analysis (FEA)
• Working knowledge of metrology, associated tools, and statistical techniques
• Project leadership experience
