The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As the Senior Environmental Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by doing the following:

  • Support air permitting compliance program, including data collection, recordkeeping, testing and reporting for chemical and film manufacturing.
  • Lead projects to ensure environmental compliance for the site, comprising a chemical plant, film manufacturing plant and WWT operations.
  • Implement management systems, programs and processes to ensure durable compliance with local, state, federal and company standards. Develop and implement training programs to support compliance.
  • Determine opportunities for environmental program improvements and develop strategic plans for improvement. Work with appropriate stakeholders to implement changes and track to completion.
  • Support site by collaborating with engineers and leaders to ensure compliance requirements are
    incorporated into, and followed by operations, maintenance, and contractors.
  • Support corporate initiatives to create, improve or implement programs driving environmental performance.
  • Be on-call for live support of emergency response events

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of environmental compliance and reporting experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Air permitting compliance experience and a working knowledge of federal and/or state air regulations

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Seven (7) years of environmental compliance experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with environmental regulatory reporting, e.g., Title V reporting, NPDES reporting, etc
  • Experience with other EHS compliance programs, e.g.
  • Multimedia Compliance Auditing
  • Wastewater Permitting (general or specific permitting)
  • Hazardous Waste Management
  • Storm Water Permit and Spill Control Plan preparation
  • EPCRA
  • Process Safety Management

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
