Role Summary

Performs technical troubleshooting by leveraging documented procedures and ensuring a high level of customer service in order to support the business and academic mission of the institution through technology.

 

This position utilizes creativity to produce and direct various media products. The incumbent schedules production, directs production staff, produces high quality projects within designated deadlines and budgets, and takes an active role in academic curriculum through video production training for students both in the classroom and in the field.

1. Creates documentary projects and institutional productions.
2. Supervises and/or directs production staff.

  • Creates documentary projects and institutional productions.
  • Conducts interviews and develops stories that convey a meaningful message.
  • Composes engaging and informative documentaries.
  • Uses creativity and imagination to develop brand identity.
  • Creates motivational communication that generates viewer enthusiasm.
  • Ensures look and style of videos are produced with creativity and consistency and production deadlines are met.
  • Schedules pre-production, production and post-production activities.
  • Organizes and maintains an orderly equipment room.
  • Establishes a system for students to utilize equipment for approved projects.
  • Supervises and/or directs production staff (editors, videographers, student interns, and writers, etc.).
  • Provides video production training for students in the classroom setting and in the field.
  • Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, Southeastern Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • May teach a course per semester with necessary degree requirement.
  • Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

 

 

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following.  Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

1. Identifies, troubleshoots, resolves, and/or escalates routine and first level technical problems for various products and services.
2. Receives and responds to inquiries and provides technical information through various communication mediums according to established policies and procedures. 
3. Using the ticketing system, log details of work performed, and resolution procedures, after intervention.
4. Assist with training student staff.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education: High School or Equivalent

Experience: (2) Two Years Experience

 

An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Broadcasting or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
