An exciting opportunity exists for a college intern to join our semiconductor foundry team at the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) at Raytheon in Andover, MA. This department develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.
What You Will Do
- Work in a cleanroom environment
- Handle GaAs and GaN wafers
- Assist with various lithography, deposition, and etch processes
- Perform and document optical microscope inspections
- Perform scanning electron microscope imaging
- Perform failure analysis and data analysis
What You Will Learn
- Wafer fabrication techniques such as lithography, deposition and etch processes
- Optical and scanning electron microscope imaging techniques
- Data analysis and trouble-shooting techniques
Qualifications You Must Have
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major.
- This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their sophomore year by the start of summer 2026.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in one or more of the following: Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Strong academic background
