Description
At Clinical Associates, we make being healthy easier. We connect our patients to a seamless system of integrated medical care, which includes in-house specialists in areas of practice, from cardiology to podiatry. We also offer unique services like our ambulatory surgery center and nuclear stress testing facility.
Our physicians, specialists and credentialed health care providers are assisted by 175 trained support staff. We do our best to take care of everything for our patients – records, scheduling appointments, coordinating with providers and specialists, and each of our offices has laboratory centers for tests and blood work on site.
We are seeking to add an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to our Dermatology practice! Candidates must have experience working in a fast paced dermatology office and be able to provide excellent patient care and superior customer service. The ability to work efficiently in the back office clinical setting and the front office is required.
Shift: Monday - Thursday 8:30am -4:30pm (Reisterstown office - 120 Westminster Pike)
Friday 8:30am - 4:30 pm (Towson office - 515 Fairmount Avenue)
*Requires travel to our Towson office every Friday.
*Occasional Saturday Hours @ Towson from 9:00am - 1:00pm
Duties and Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Assisting physician with office exams and dermatologic procedures.
- Interviewing patients, logging vitals, reviewing medical histories, and providing information and/or directions to patients.
- Administering injections and /or removing sutures.
- Maintaining medical records.
- Cleaning instruments and operating the autoclave.
- Cleaning and stocking exam rooms.
- Calling in prescriptions / refilling medications under the direction of the physician.
- Performing front desk registration and check in / check out procedures.
- Appropriately answering telephone calls and documenting messages in the EMR system.
- Being a part of a team and working closely with providers and management.
Requirements:
- Medical Assistant certificate of completion / diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
- Current MA registration/ national certification.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Excellent patient care and customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with dermatologic surgery and procedures.
- EMR experience preferred (Nextgen is a plus!)
- Experience handling the front desk / check in / triaging calls.
