About Coastal Carolina Hospital
Coastal Carolina Hospital (CCH) is a 41-bed acute care hospital located at 1000 Medical Center Drive in Hardeeville, SC. Opened in 2004, CCH joined the healthcare system in 2007 and serves patients in Bluffton, Okatie, Hardeeville and surrounding counties through its care team of over 400 colleagues and over 70 physicians. The hospital provides many services to the community including a 24-hour emergency department, a dedicated Women’s Pavilion, and robotic-assisted minimally-invasive surgery. Occupational Therapist Full Time Days Position Summary 

The physical therapist conducts a comprehensive evaluation including interpretation of documentation, evaluation of physical therapy tests and using measurements of bodily functions and structures to be able to establish a plan of care. The physical therapist implements the course of treatment using physical, chemical, or mechanical agents, activities, instruction and devices for prevention and therapeutic purposes. The therapist provides consultation, educational and other advisory services for the prevention or reducing the incidence of physical disability, bodily malfunction and pain. The therapist constantly reevaluates the patient to determine efficacy of care and adjusts the plan of care accordingly by modifying the treatment and adjusting the goals. All care is appropriately documented in the physical therapy record.

THE OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE. 

Education: Current State of South Carolina physical therapy license. 

Experience: One affiliation in acute care. 

Other Qualifications: Current BLS certification.

Responds to physician orders for occupational therapy. Administers and interprets tests and measurements of patients. Reviews patient charts and progress prior to treatment and modifies treatment plan accordingly. Develops functional goals based on patient and/or family expectations. Develops, improves, or restores skills in activities of daily living, work, or productive activities. Seeks clarification of physician orders as needed.

Education:

Required: Bachelor's or master's degree in occupational therapy

Experience:

Preferred: 2 years as a practicing OT in a healthcare setting

Certifications:

Required: State licensure. AHA BLS.
