Tax Senior Specialist

Job Description

The Position

We are looking for an experienced Senior Indirect Tax Specialist to join our global tax team on a two-year fixed-term contract as maternity leave coverage.

This role will manage indirect tax compliance, advisory across multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with VAT/GST and other indirect tax regulations worldwide while providing Indirect tax support to business operations.

The contract is proposed as fixed for now, however, future development can allow making the position permanent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee indirect tax compliance processes across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filings (VAT, GST).

• Actively take part in the review process to ensure the VAT filing while turning any potential findings into improvements in indirect tax compliance controls and processes.

• Assist Local Finance or 3rd Party Source during VAT audits.

• Execution of relevant internal controls including reconciliation of assigned GL accounts.

• Work closely with 3rd Party Source (EY) to ensure the submission of the filing.

• Advising AtR, OtC and StS teams on day-to-day indirect tax matters.

• Pro-actively seeks to identify opportunities to optimize tax positions and/or mitigate potential tax risks, and to continuously improve the indirect tax compliance process.

• Liaise with different internal departments and external consultants on VAT related matters.

• Accuracy, quality, and integrity of all activities.

• Support development of junior colleagues within the indirect tax team.

 Required Education, Experience, and Skills

• Higher education (university/bachelor’s degree) in international/European tax law, fiscal/business economics, or accounting.

• 6+ years of indirect tax experience with an international tax advisory firm and/or large multinational company.

• Fluent English.

• Proficiency with ERP software, tax determination systems, indirect tax compliance software (SAP ECC, S4Hana, Vertex, Thomson Reuters, Sovos, Avalara or similar).

• Demonstrate working experience in an organization providing services across multiple markets or geographies.

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a proactive work ethic.

• Ability to work independently, capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while keeping priorities clear.

• Possess strong knowledge of best practices in indirect tax compliance area.
