Independence Plus is now hiring a full-time Intake and Patient Service Manager. This position will be based out of our Oak Brook, IL (DuPage County) office and reports to the Vice President of HME Services. Full benefits available; PTO, medical, dental, vision coverage and 401(k) plan.
Job Description Summary
The Intake and Patient Service Manager directly supervises the Intake and Patience Service Representative (PSR) Teams, while assisting the Vice President of HME Services in the daily administrative operations and strategic objectives of the division.
Essential Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Develops and manages the workflow of Intake and Patient Service Staff to improve efficiency and moraleÂ
- Supervises the daily work product and completion of tasks assigned to Intake and Patient Service StaffÂ
- Assists in guiding the operations of the Intake/PSR teams to improve accuracy, efficiency, and patient satisfactionÂ
- Responsible for timely filing of claims, by managing initial CMNs and Prior ApprovalsÂ
- Interacts with patients and their families daily to ensure their needs are met within our servicesÂ
- Works closely with the sales team, RCPs, Billing, and warehouse staff to provide support, as needed, with existing referralsÂ
- Complies with and assures the organization adheres to company policies and procedures, accreditation and licensing guidelines, and all applicable federal and state lawsÂ
- Assists Reimbursement Teams with researching / obtaining missing required documents
- Recommends personnel discipline and/or changes to optimize operationsÂ
- Assists with employee recruitment and interviewing for departmental staffing needsÂ
- Provides necessary training and guidance to PSRs and Intake SpecialistsÂ
- Participates in HME Leadership meeting and collaborates with other department leaders
- Always maintains patient and company confidentialityÂ
- Monitors and builds perceptions of Independence Plus as a high-quality companyÂ
- Promotes home health, home nursing, and respiratory / HME referrals in the healthcare communityÂ
- Assists in communications for claim adjudication and discrepanciesÂ
- Schedules department meetings with Revenue Cycle, Warehouse Operations, Respiratory, Revenue Qualifications, and Project Management Teams
- Develops an agenda /action log for meetings with Billing issues, A/R feedback, error trends and process improvement and development Â
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years s experience in healthcare customer service; medical equipment and supplies order processing preferredÂ
- Associate's degree in health-related field or equivalent experienceÂ
- Experience with electronic order entry and medical records systems, Brightree experience preferredÂ
- Thorough knowledge of HIPAA, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding, and CMS billing proceduresÂ
- Demonstrates exceptional communication skills in-person and on the phoneÂ
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, analytic, and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Ability to manage a wide variety of medically complex patient needs and requirementsÂ
- Comprehensive understanding of insurance verification and payor coverage standards as it relates to order fulfillment and confirmationÂ
- Must be an energetic problem-solver able to direct resolution of complex patient/ patient issues with diplomacyÂ
- Highly organized with ability to multi-task and prioritize in an ever-changing, fast-paced environmentÂ
- Utilization of integrity and discretion with the management of sensitive or confidential informationÂ
- Demonstrates the ability to supervise and direct personnelÂ
- Knowledge of corporate business management, governmental regulations, and CHAP standards
- High degree of proficiency with Brightree and Microsoft Office Suite software
