Marketing implements the strategy through developing, commercializing and monitoring the appropriate products and services. Product or Services Marketing is responsible for defining the product/service and market strategy and life cycle management including customer need identification, market research, product or service offering, pricing, positioning, promotion, branding and distribution to drive customer loyalty, sales growth and improved profitability.
This is an essential product marketing role that owns the Medical Essentials business within the US Regional Healthcare Essentials marketing team.
The Senior Product Marketing Manager is responsible for working closely with cross functional teams to ensure operational excellence and long-term sustainable growth. This role is responsible for business management activities including attentive sales and customer support, detailed financial comprehension and decision making, and management of new business pipeline. In addition, marketing strategy activities including product and portfolio messaging, new product launches, engagement campaigns, new US market assessments, competitive positioning and voice of customer and customer journey analysis in the pursuit of an exceptional customer experience.
Job Overview/Summary
The Sr. Product Manager will be responsible for the Medical Essentials portfolio within the broader Healthcare Essentials category. The Sr. Product Manager will have one direct report, and lead demand planning, pricing, marketing strategy & execution, sales enablement and downstream portfolio lifecycle management for the category. Individual will directly report to the U.S. Marketing Director for Healthcare Essentials.
Responsibilities
Manage the channel or regional revenue/profit for product lines or a portfolio of products sold within the channel or region.
Develop channel specific marketing objectives, strategies, and tactics.
Execute projects in support of Channel Marketing leadership to drive penetration of Cardinal branded products within relevant global regions and market channels.
Serve as a product expert for assigned product lines, working with clinical and sales staff to communicate value to customers, detail features and benefits of product offering, and to make pricing decisions in line with the established pricing strategy and tiers.
Working with Enterprise Contracting, Sales, and Product Management, develop strategies and tactics to pursue and capture GPO/RPC contracts and to maximize the realized benefit from won contracts within the channel and in line with the deal model.
Proactively gain insights into competitors, their products, pricing, unmet customer needs, and changing clinical practices through observation of operations and interactions with clinical staff during sales support, product implementations, and conversion activities.
Develop recommendations for new products, product lines, and product line extensions that align with channel growth objectives and strategies for consideration by the global product management team. Make recommendations regarding product line rationalization and product retirement within the channel.
Develop the mechanisms and means to communicate insights gathered from the field to all relevant internal stakeholders.
Develop the in-channel launch, marketing, and promotions strategy for new product launches and drive growth initiatives for products post-launch.
Create product related sales tools and train the field sales force to empower sales representatives to effectively sell the product portfolio in the channel.
Remain current on trends in the market that impact sales, distribution and the profitability of Cardinal branded products.
Support development and facilitate validation of stakeholder analysis, competitive analysis, positioning/value proposition, message platform for products in the channel.
Strong ability to influence and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including product management, sales, DMG, customer service, strategic pricing, enterprise marketing, finance, quality, regulatory, legal, inventory, regional or channel teams, as well as others.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred
6+ years experience in related field preferred
