This is a full-time on-site position located in Woodland, WA. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, 7 paid holidays (after 90 days of service), and generous PTO accruals from day one!
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Follow all Portco procedures, including but not limited to: Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Safe Quality Food (SQF)
- Act as secondary SQF Practitioner when Primary is not on-site
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Inspect, test, and record Raw Materials, Work In Process (WIP), and Finished Goods
- Perform process checks throughout the production process, ensuring that product integrity meets specification
- Maintain Calibration Program for equipment
- Monitor Hazardous Waste program
- Ongoing training of employees regarding QA, GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and Regulatory Requirements
Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to make presentations, facilitate meetings, probe for root cause, and provide training to various groups within the organization
- Strong understanding of current SQF code, preferably Food Packaging Material
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.)
- Proficient mathematical skills
- Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and problem solving ability
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple projects
- Able to detect minute visual differences (color, etc.)
Education and Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in a packaging or manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- HACCP certified, or willing to obtain training and certification
- SQF certified, or willing to obtain training and certification
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies and procedures
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
