About the role
Mater Private Hospital Redlands is seeking an experienced Administration Support Officer to join our Theatre Bookings team in a Maximum Term Part Time position (20 hours per week) from August 2026 to April 2027.
Working Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 5:00pm, you'll play an integral role in coordinating theatre bookings and providing exceptional administrative support within a busy hospital environment. Working closely with clinical teams, Visiting Medical Officers and external stakeholders, you'll help ensure the smooth delivery of patient care behind the scenes.
Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
You'll provide high-quality administrative support while coordinating theatre bookings and ensuring a seamless experience for patients and clinical teams.
You will be expected to:
- Coordinate and process theatre bookings using hospital information systems
- Liaise with Visiting Medical Officers, practice managers and clinical teams to ensure theatre lists are received and scheduled accurately
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, clinicians and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organisational policies
- Provide administrative support across Patient Services and assist other departments as required
- Exercise sound judgement to resolve day-to-day administrative issues in a fast-paced environment
About you
You'll be a proactive and organised administration professional who thrives in a busy healthcare environment and enjoys supporting both patients and clinical teams.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in medical or healthcare administration (essential)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong computer skills, with experience using patient administration systems or the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks and remain calm under pressure
- A collaborative team player who demonstrates professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times
