Classification: Exempt - Part-Time 

Reports to: Principal, Summer School Principal

Supervises: Summer School teachers and Camp Leaders

Pay Rate: $9,500 stipend

Position Summary

Assist the summer school principal in the preparation of summer programming and with the overall administration of Summer School June 16th - July 24th.   


Duties and Specific Responsibilities

February 1-June 30, assist with summer school preparation, which may include:


  1. Answering prospective attendees' emails and phone calls.
  2. Assist with the planning and coordination of summer school course offerings and schedules.
  3. Assist with the orientation of summer school teachers/camp leaders.
  4. Assist with the promotion of the summer school programs.
  5. Assist with managing summer school materials (textbooks, etc.)
  6. Assist with the organization and distribution of emergency forms and contact lists.
  7. Assist with other administrative tasks.


Assist with the administration of Summer School June 16th-July 24th:


  1. Supervise all programming and summer school personnel and evaluate instruction as needed.
  2. Provide feedback and support to summer school teachers and camp leaders, ensuring alignment with program goals and school values.
  3. Manage registration and fees- maintain current registration lists, send confirmation emails, track attendance, and collect fees and issue refunds.
  4. Manage communication with families through emails and phone calls.
  5. Assist with maintaining the budget, collecting and tracking personnel documentation, and collecting and tracking vendor paperwork.
  6. Manage emergency plans and paperwork.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • B.A. degree 
  • 3-5 years teaching experience

  • Experience supervising/managing others is required.

The Summer School Vice Principal must be able to: 

  • lift and/or carry moderate weight:10-20 lbs of school materials such as textbooks
  • Spend a considerable amount of the day on their feet and walking around campus
  • Spend time at a desk using a computer
  • Hear and speak using phone system
  • Work with frequent interruptions


Work Environment

This position is a combination of office work and supervising programming around campus, including outdoors.
