About Houston

 

ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

 

By bringing many global functional groups together, the campus provides employees with the tools and capabilities needed today, and in the future, to achieve business objectives and accelerate the discovery of new resources, technologies and products. What role you will play in our team

 

The Senior Communications Advisor serves as a content creator, speech writer and editor for the corporation. Focused on ExxonMobil’s strategic objectives, the senior communications advisor is an integral part of the communications team, working collaboratively and creatively to ensure ExxonMobil values, strategic direction, advocacy, and purpose are communicated effectively to external audiences. 

This position will help develop content for executive speeches, blogs, thought leadership articles, corporate publications, and other communications platforms that clearly convey the company’s key messages around policy positions, investments, actions, plans, and progress.

Advisors are responsible for developing and researching original content and working collaboratively with the communications team, corporate strategic planning, investor relations, law, and operating units to ensure the highest degree of accuracy and quality in their writing.  

This person should be ready to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment and a highly capable team of professionals. The successful candidate should contribute immediately with new ideas and demonstrate care, compassion, leadership, resilience and a continual pursuit of excellence.

The position is based in Spring, TX. 

What you will do

 

• Develop, research and write speeches, thought leadership articles, opeds, policy papers, publications, and other materials that help tell the ExxonMobil story to external and internal audiences.
• Ensure all materials are integrated and aligned with media, investor, and government relations, as well as overall corporate strategic goals.
• Establish, build, and nurture a strong network of relationships across ExxonMobil business lines.
• Work closely with various levels of ExxonMobil leadership to develop content that openly shares the company’s story and enhances its reputation.
• Understand various executive leadership communications styles and be able to adjust to intended audiences.
• Work within a team of financial, technical and executive communicators in a collaborative and proactive manner.
