Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for a Warper Operator to operate warping machine in order to transfer cones of yarn to large beams for commercial tufting.

Responsibilities:

Operate warping machine, maintaining standard efficiency.

Receive work order from clerk and check yarn against standards.

Operate scales and determine yardage on beams.

Change thread up on machines as work order indicates.

Write beam information on work order and beam tag.

Cut thread waste off beam and place in waste box.

Transport empty beams to warper with hand trucks.

Assist in creeling yarn.

Air splice ends of yarn together for yarn repairs and when creeling.

Count number of cones in each box and make note of it on packaging label.

Fill packaging label out completely

Push cart to packout area.

Qualifications:

Ability to carry out written and oral instructions

Ability to carry up to 25lbs

Must be able to work 8-hour shifts

Must have basic English reading and writing skills

Must be able to perform basic math

Must be able to work in a team environment
