Job Summary: Prepares food items, maintains kitchen cleanliness, and ensures adherence to sanitation standards. Interacts with customers to provide high-quality service. May perform cashier duties and handle cash transactions.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED with five years of food service experience. ServSafe certification required.
Essential Functions:
- Promotes cooperative work environment and demonstrates commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Maintains sanitation standards, cleanliness, and safety in the kitchen area.
- Monitors food quality, follows recipes, and ensures compliance with departmental guidelines.
- Adheres to workplace safety regulations and completes required training.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives and supports diversity.
- Controls costs, minimizes waste, and manages food inventory.
- Plans workday to ensure timely meal service and notifies management of adjustments.
- Prepares food according to standardized recipes and maintains food storage procedures.
- Completes batch cooking logs and evaluates excess prepared food for future use.
- May perform additional responsibilities such as cashier duties or securing the department.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to follow instructions and work under general supervision.
- Proficient in operating cooking equipment and following recipes.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts.
- Familiarity with hospital diets and ability to work in different kitchen areas.
Work Environment: Works in kitchen and retail areas with exposure to wet floors and sharp equipment.
Physical Requirements: Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
