About the Role:

As the HR Generalist, you will be responsible for a wide range of recruitment and HR operations across the UK and Portugal, under the guidance of the Global HRBP team. Your role will cover the entire employee lifecycle — including full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, employee relations, talent management support, and offboarding — ensuring all processes align with local legislation and global best practices. You will also manage global contractor payroll through our external providers and collaborate closely with the Talent Acquisition team to source, interview, and hire talent across Europe, the US, and Mexico. You will be based in Lisbon (Portugal), with international daily exposure as part of the Global HR team.

What You'll Do:

• Work closely with local payroll partners and the Finance team to maintain accurate payroll data and ensure timely, compliant payments for employees in the UK and Portugal, as well as global contractors (with focus on payroll compliance, benefits, taxes, and insurance).
• Maintain and update data in the HRIS and prepare monthly HR and payroll reports.
• Manage full-cycle recruitment — sourcing, interviewing, and hiring talent across Portugal, Mexico, the US, and other regions in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team.
• Support the Global HRBP team and local HR functions in Portugal, and the UK on employment legislation and compliance matters (e.g., relatorio unico in Portugal).
• Oversee the employee lifecycle end-to-end — from pre-hiring and contract preparation to onboarding, performance support, and offboarding.
• Contribute to the development of HR policies and standard operating procedures that strengthen company culture and ensure global consistency and compliance.
• Oversee administrative and culture initiatives for the Lisbon office, including office operations, event planning, employee engagement activities, and local implementation of global HR programs to foster a positive and cohesive workplace environment.
• Contribute to global HR roadmap initiatives, supporting the design and execution of key people initiatives, including but not limited to performance management, learning and development, and culture and engagement.

Who You Are:

• Degree in Human Resources, Payroll, and/or Labour law, with a 3-5 years experience working in HR (Payroll, Operations, or similar role)
• Solid understanding of HR policies and practices; global HR experience a plus
• Demonstrated expertise in managing full-cycle recruitment processes across multiple roles and levels within a fast-paced organization.
• Working knowledge of HR & Payroll systems; Rippling and Deel experience a plus
• Good knowledge of labor law (Portugal labor law required)
• Fluent in English, with exceptional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with fast-growing companies
• Ability to deal with highly sensitive and personal information in a confidential manner
