Subsurface Utility Engineering Technician

Our engineers and professionals provide Highway Design and Traffic Engineering, Bridge and Structural Engineering, Civil Design, Surveying and Mapping, Pipeline and Associated Facility Design, Geotechnical/Geophysical, Environmental Studies and Water/Wastewater design.

We are currently seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering Technician to join our team in our Braintree, MA locations. Our other locations will be considered. As a Subsurface Utility Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for designating buried utilities using advanced geophysical technologies and applications. You will accurately interpret subsurface information while in the field as well as process data findings. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assures the safety of all crew members, clients, and the public
• Research utility company records and use this information to perform field observation and investigation 
• Understanding of project goals, scope of work and client expectations
• Safe operation of company vehicle
• Operates and maintains SUE equipment
• Interpret subsurface information in the field and during post processing
• Communicates findings and analysis
• Will require overnight travel out of town
• Excellent communication skills
• Maintains a professional image

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate-degree or higher preferred
• 1-5 years of experience in utility locating or installation
• Ability to effectively communicate with all fellow employees both in written and verbal format
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification (Company provided training)
