We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Mobile Team.  You’ll lead the development of cross-platform client applications (Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS, and Linux) that securely steer endpoint traffic to the Zscaler cloud. As the Microsoft Windows programming domain expert, you’ll play a key role in designing and implementing innovative solutions that enhance secure internet and enterprise connectivity.  Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in our San Jose, CA office.  In this role, you will:

• Lead the design and development of endpoint security solutions for Windows using the latest software techniques.
• Collaborate with Product Management to refine requirements and deliver solutions aligned with customer needs.
• Develop and execute unit tests, partnering with QA to improve test routines, and ensuring high-quality product releases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues while driving continuous improvement in product reliability.
• Provide technical leadership across the product development lifecycle, from scoping and planning to deployment and ongoing engineering.

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications):

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on Microsoft Windows.
• Advanced proficiency in C++ and C#.
• Strong knowledge of Windows desktop application development and tools like Visual Studio, WinDBG, Wireshark, and Fiddler.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

• Demonstrated expertise in architecting, designing, and debugging complex networking features on Windows.
• Familiarity with security concepts such as PKI, VPNs, or firewalls.
• Knowledge of networking technologies, including IP, TCP, HTTP, and SSL protocols.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range$105,000—$150,000 USD
