Graduate Respiratory Therapist rate is $42.00/hr.

This position is for recent graduates in 2025. CRT and RRT required. Also Part time consideration opportunity based on unit needs (24 weekly hours).

The Graduate Respiratory Therapist Level 1 (GRT) is a novice to advanced beginner level practitioner of respiratory care. The GRT at this level administers respiratory care modalities and performs routine care with guidance and or minimal supervision, following physician orders, established policies and procedures and the American Association of Respiratory Care Clinical Practices Guidelines.

What you will do

  • Practice: Performs delegated tasks for select number of patients and families.
  • Performs ongoing systematic assessment.
  • Implements concise and complete plan of care based on assessment and standards of practice.
  • Demonstrates beginning skill competence in the delivery of respiratory care.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients, self, and others.
  • Evaluates and contributes to the revision of plan of care based on available information.
  • Uses available resources to address the identified learning needs of the patient and family.
  • Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patients and families.
  • Assesses patient accurately, comprehends finding and communicates patient condition to all team members.
  • Recognizes personal need for help and seeks assistance.
  • Documents patient care provided, utilizing current hospital standards, policy, and procedures.
  • Professionalism/Leadership: Demonstrates acceptance of personal/professional accountability and responsibility.
  • Demonstrates appearance and behaviors that promote a positive image of Respiratory Care.
  • Addresses parents/patients and colleagues with respect and dignity.
  • Arrives at work on time and is ready to start the shift.
  • Gives an accurate report on the patient and family to members of the team.
  • Follows safe handoff practices.
  • Participates in patient care rounds.
  • Participates in departmental based PPM council activities.
  • Uses established standards of care to guide practice.
  • Accepts instruction/guidance from preceptor and other clinically advanced personnel.
  • Uses available resources.
  • Participates in evaluation of self, peers, and leaders.
  • Incorporates into practice recommendations of evaluation by self, peers, and leaders.
