Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.</p> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>BS degree in social work or related field required.</li> <li>Years of experience in a social service capacity may substitute for education in a 2:1 ratio.</li> <li>Knowledge of local community resources</li> <li>Demonstrate a positive attitude &amp; an ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds &amp; circumstances</li> <li>Able to maintain a non-judgmental demeanor, using a professional approach and maintaining boundaries with clients</li> <li>Able to handle crisis/emergency services for the homeless &amp; working poor by utilizing crisis intervention, &amp; conflict resolution skills</li> <li>A proven ability to maximize services with budgetary constraints</li> <li>Ability to quickly become proficient in Salvation Army approved Social Service programs, network requirements, and Link 2 Feed program from United Food Bank</li> <li>Ability to work efficiently on a diverse and cohesive team</li> <li>Computer literate &amp; proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Publisher.</li> <li>Ability to work in an office setting &amp; operate office equipment</li> <li>Must be able to type 50 wpm.</li> <li>Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license and clean MVR &amp; pass The Salvation Army Fleet Safety e-learning</li> <li>Ability to pass a criminal background check.</li> </ul> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <p>Responsibility of the operation of all Salvation Army Social Service programs to include but not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Food Bank Program</li> <li>Utility &amp; Rental Assistance Program</li> <li>Sally’s Closet</li> <li>Winter Warming Shelter</li> <li>Pathway of Hope Program</li> <li>Seasonal Assistance (Thanksgiving &amp; Christmas)</li> <li>Summer Camp</li> <li>Back to School Program</li> <li>Local grant funding</li> </ul> <p>For the above programs be responsible for the following aspects of each program</p> <ul> <li>Determining eligibility</li> <li>Maintaining Records</li> <li>Monitoring Costs</li> <li>Overseeing staff</li> <li>Securing and training of volunteers, recording all statistics relating to same</li> <li>Inventory control</li> <li>Intake of clients</li> <li>Distribution of funds and goods</li> <li>Promotion of special events</li> <li>Case Management</li> <li>Securing outside vendors to aide clients i.e., motels, transportation companies and other related providers who can assist clients.</li> </ul> <p>As part of the office procedures, record keeping and supplies the following responsibilities would be required</p> <ul> <li>Recording and filing (electronically) of all casework documents</li> <li>Prepare and submit all required daily, weekly and monthly reports and statistics.</li> <li>Communicate the supply needs of the Family Service Office to your supervisor</li> </ul> <p>Community Outreach and Networking to include but not be limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Work with local community partners to enhance Salvation Army social service programs</li> <li>Attend community Social Service Impact meetings, public relations &amp; special events and seminars as directed</li> <li>Build positive working relationships with ancillary entities that provide support for Salvation Army initiatives</li> </ul> <p>Responsible for seasonal activities with requirements to include but not limited to the following</p> <ul> <li>Thanksgiving Intake &amp; distribution procedures</li> <li>Christmas intake &amp; distribution procedures</li> <li>Networking with other holiday providers in the community</li> <li>Helping with the angel tree program, especially with the production of angel tree tags</li> </ul> <p>Case Management</p> <ul> <li>Oversee all aspects of day-to-day case management</li> <li>Maintain a client caseload</li> <li>Complete intake on all eligible clients &amp; maintain the Well Sky database</li> <li>Provide supervision and direction to social service staff</li> <li>Work collaboratively in striving to provide service excellence to clients</li> <li>Answer incoming calls, as needed and assist with the overall operation of the office.</li> <li>Observe and ensure all Salvation Army, city, county, state, and federal rules, regulations, and guidelines are followed.</li> <li>Assist with Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) intake &amp; assist in receiving &amp; processing food donations for EDS.</li> <li>Research, create, &amp; propose alternative methodologies of service delivery to extend outreach of social service programs.</li
