About the role

Purpose within the Organization:

The purpose of this position is to assist the music department with administrative and recital preparation duties.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

  • Student will oversee the production of recital and concert programs and program notes: proof-reading and coordination of printing and pickup.
  • Student will open and close campus facilities (including the Sunset Auditorium) for all scheduled recitals within a semester.
  • Student will assist with stage management of department concert, recitals and production events.
  • Student will coordinate the administration of the Auralia/Musition and Noteflight accounts.
  • Student will assist the department in scheduling of private instruction courses.
  • Student will assist department in document management for and scheduling of semester juries.
  • Student will assist the music department faculty as directed by the assistant dean and hiring manager.
  • Student will assist in music department inventory documentation

Equipment used and responsibility:

  • Computer
  • Copier
  • Paper Cutter
  • Piano

                                               

Qualifications:  

  • Prefer student to live on GCU’s Ground Campus
  • Strong ability in formatting of Microsoft Word documents
  • Knowledge of Excel spreadsheet functions and ability to manipulate data
  • Impeccable time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work with music writing software
  • Ability to retain confidentiality of private information
  • Flexible work hours per week

Education:

Grand Canyon University/Grand Canyon Education is committed to a student first policy.

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program. 
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic standing (SAP) with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements. 

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
