About the role
Senior Accountant American First Finance, LLC., (“AFF”) a virtual lending company that services retail installment finance receivables and provides lease-purchase solutions for consumer goods, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team in Wichita. This position will report directly to the Controller, and be responsible for advanced and essential accounting duties, as well as providing support for financial analysis, management and regulatory reporting, and other related duties. The role includes a wide exposure to the entire financial close process. AFF is a wholly-owned subsidiary of FirstCash Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCFS), the largest pawn store operator in the world, with over 3,100 locations in the U.S. and Latin America. What We Offer:

- Assist in the month end closing process by recording journal entries, calculating accruals, and performing large account reconciliations
- Fixed asset management including calculating monthly depreciation expense
- Posting month-end close entries to the general ledger
- Coordinate review of multi-state sales tax returns with external accounting firm and reconcile related general ledger accounts
- Analyze financial statement impacts, including understanding impacts to the year-end annual report and audit processes
- Provide backup and supporting documentation for our annual financial statement audit
- Provide backup and supporting documentation for AFF segment information included in the FCFS consolidated 10-Q’s and 10-K’s
- Adhere to all SOX internal control requirements
- Review departmental coding of all departmental monthly purchasing card activity to ensure proper classification of operating expenses
- Provide support on special requests, projects, and ad hoc analyses as necessary
- Identify process improvement opportunities and propose practical solutions; maintain accurate and up-to-date written procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 2-5 years of experience in an accounting role
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong spreadsheet and data analysis skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic environment while meeting deadlines and handling high-volume accounting activities.
- Strong desire to understand and research root cause when reviewing discrepancies.
- NetSuite Experience preferred.
