PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

The Director of L&D will develop, execute, present and oversee the property-wide training initiatives for service standards, compliance, Langham required curriculum and other identified needs. The Director of L&D will partner with Department Heads, Department Trainers, and the Director of Human Resources to ensure effective and timely service training is provided to all departments. This position works with the Director of Quality and Executive Committee to monitor service and develop action plans as appropriate. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:

• Partner with the Director of Human Resources and Director of Quality & Development to conduct a training needs analysis and develop annual training goals.
• Coordinate, plan and execute all training programs
• Co-lead the hotel’s trainers network program – Quality Training Ambassadors Program
• Work with Department Heads to develop training/on boarding manuals for all hotel positions
• Maintain, prepare and create training materials as needed
• Maintain, prepare annual training budget in accordance with company standards
• Coordinate weekly training topics for hotel Showtimes
• Update monthly hotel training KPI’s
• Update communication boards
• Design and develop training programs based on hotel needs and individual goals
• Create and update monthly, quarterly and annual training calendar & programs
• Support the Director of HR with compliance training and recordkeeping
• Revise training programs as necessary based on changes in the work environment
• Assist Department Managers and supervisors in identifying specific training needs
• Work with Director of Quality and Hotel Manager to identify training needs to meet LQA/Review-Pro expectations 
• Follow up on Langham’s Competency Matrix
• Develop and update Leadership Onboard Training Manual
• Responsible for New Hire Orientation and 5M’s training
• Assist in updating job descriptions as necessary
• Create and maintain job task check lists
• Other projects as assigned through HR our Quality

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to sit for long periods of time to accomplish data entry and report generation. Must be able to utilize computer and monitor.  Must be able to stand for a period of up to 8 hours when conducting training programs.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must be able to adhere to and promote Hotel service standards, Human Resources standards and policies, and applicable corporate standards and policies.

• Must have broad knowledge of the various hotel job positions and the ability to match the position with applicant's abilities.

• Flexible in working PM, weekends and holidays
• Bi-lingual in Spanish is a desired

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Organizational Development or equivocal on the job experience is ideal. 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Prior luxury hotel experience required
• Prior training experience is required
• Track record in developing and executing training programs at all levels
• HR generalist background is an asset
