Manager Sales Liaison
The Manager Sales Liaison acts as a critical connector between the commercial team, key clients, and internal cross-functional departments. This role ensures seamless execution of commercial commitments through a balanced combination of client relationship management, sales operations support, S&OP alignment, and operational coordination with Quality, Supply Chain, Donor/Logistics Operations, and Customer Service.
The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with exceptional organizational and communication skills. They proactively drive alignment, ensure operational readiness, support Key Account Managers, and help maintain a best-in-class customer experience across the full product lifecycle.
Primary responsibilities for the role (level-specific responsibilites should be included in the chart below):
1. Client Relationship & Account Support
• Serve as a primary operational point of contact after the client’s initial purchase of human-derived or pharma-related materials, ensuring smooth onboarding and ongoing collaboration.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including manufacturing, process development, procurement, operations, R&D and quality.
• Manage day-to-day communication with clients, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
• Provide strategic operational support to Key Account Managers for high-value or complex accounts.
• Assist KAMs in managing escalations, contributing operational context to negotiations and strategic planning.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the sales team, ensuring alignment between client needs and internal capabilities.
2. Sales & S&OP Coordination
• Translate customer needs and sales commitments into actionable requirements for Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
• Support forecast consolidation, demand visibility, and pipeline accuracy in coordination with the commercial and supply chain teams.
• Participate in recurring S&OP meetings to represent commercial priorities and ensure product availability risks are flagged early.
• Collaborate with sales operations to improve CRM, contract tracking, and internal processes.
• Analyze sales performance metrics and pipeline data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement in sales operations and client onboarding processes.
3. Operational Coordination & Supply Chain Alignment
• Lead coordination across sales, marketing, product, finance, operations, and other internal stakeholders to support complex deals and enterprise accounts.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance to manage quality agreements, change controls, deviations, and product/service investigations in a compliant and timely manner.
• Liaise with Donor Operations and Logistics (where applicable) to schedule collections, secure planned raw material availability, and ensure on-time deliveries aligned with client manufacturing timelines.
• Work closely with Customer Service to process and validate Purchase Orders, resolve invoicing issues, and maintain clean financial transactions.
• Oversee the execution of sales contracts, proposals, and service agreements with precision and compliance.
• Monitor product availability, backorders, and supply risks, escalating when necessary and supporting mitigation strategies.
4. Account Growth, Renewal & Continuous Engagement
• Identify and support opportunities to expand orders as client programs progress or scale up.
• Conduct periodic business or performance reviews to ensure alignment with client expectations and evolving operational needs.
• Manage or support contract renewal processes, ensuring continuity of supply and strengthened commercial partnerships.
• Leverage strong client relationships to generate referrals, new opportunities, or expansions within existing accounts.
• Actively support marketing and commercial teams by identifying cross-selling or upselling opportunities.
5. Scientific & Technical Feedback Routing
• Capture feedback related to product performance, new material requests, or technical/scientific questions from clients.
• Communicate this feedback to internal R&D, Product Development, or Scientific Affairs to inform future improvements and innovation.
