About the role

Description

We are looking for a full time or part time Dental Assistant to cover a maternity leave until the end of October, this could lead into a permanent position! Front desk experience a plus!


Days needed: Tuesday-Friday and 2 Saturdays per month (Tuesday and Friday 8a-5p, Wednesday and Thursday 9a-5p, Saturdays 9a-2p)

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Prepares patient for dental treatment. 
  • Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area.
  • Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
  • Fabricates restorations; cleans and polishes removable appliances.
  • Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification.
  • Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
  • Documents dental care services by charting in patient records
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Ensures operation of dental equipment 
  • Maintains dental supplies inventory. 


Requirements

Education and Training

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one-year related experience and /or training; or equivalent of combination of education and experience in the dental profession.
  • Valid X-ray certificate.
  • Current license if CDA, RDA, or EFDA (per state requirements).
  • CPR & first aid certificate.
