• Design core, backend software components.
• Code using primarily C/C++, Java, PHP and Hack.
• Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa.
• Conduct design and code reviews.
• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.
• Establish self as an owner of a particular component, feature or system with expert end-to-end understanding.
• Successfully completes projects at large scope while maintaining a consistent high level of productivity.
• Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 24 months in the job offered or in a related occupation. Foreign degree equivalent is acceptable.
  
  Requires 24 months of experience in each of the following:
• 1. Python
• 2. Relational databases and SQL
• 3. Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)
• 4. Linux
• 5. Core web technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• 6. Building highly-scalable performant solutions,
  Applying algorithms and core computer science concepts to real world systems as evidenced by recognizing and matching patterns from different areas of computer science in production systems
• 7. Distributed systems.
