Are you a dependable and experienced security professional ready to take on a leadership role? We are seeking a Lead Security Officer to support security operations and serve as a go-to resource for officers and supervisors at a busy shopping mall on Long Island.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a desire to lead by example in a fast-paced retail environment.

Position Summary:
The Lead Security Officer provides support to site leadership by monitoring officer performance, assisting with daily operations, and ensuring a professional and secure atmosphere for mall guests, tenants, and employees.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first point of contact for officers during shifts

• Assist in assigning posts, breaks, and patrol duties

• Monitor officer performance and provide on-the-spot guidance or feedback

• Ensure post orders and safety protocols are being followed

• Respond to incidents and assist in writing or reviewing incident reports

• Conduct property patrols and assist with surveillance monitoring

• Support the onboarding and mentoring of new hires

• Report any concerns or performance issues to site supervision

• Maintain communication with mall management and law enforcement as needed

Qualifications:

• Valid NYS Security Guard License

• Must be willing and able to commute to Garden City, NY

• At least 1–2 years of security experience required

• Prior team lead or supervisory experience is a plus

• Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills

• Clear communication and conflict-resolution abilities

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods

• Retail or mall security experience preferred
