Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located at our main campus in Red Hook, Dutchess County, NY, this position is responsible for planning, supervising, and administering the daily operations of the school program. They will consult with all departments to analyze the suitability of the educational program for meeting the students' changing needs and, in conjunction with educational supervisors and staff, will implement curriculum revisions as necessary. They will oversee the compiling and preparation of behavioral and educational reports and evaluations of students' progress, and review and respond to recommendations from treatment teams regarding proposed changes to students' academic programs. The Principal will attend scheduled case reviews or treatment team meetings as needed in order to review and evaluate students' progress. This role will also assist in the budget preparation for the Education Department and administer as approved. The Principal will provide direct supervision to lead teachers and administrative assistant.
Salary: $97,658.26 - $104,494.33, commensurate with experience

Qualifications
EDUCATION: M.A. or M.S. in Special Education or related field with certificate in School Administration and Supervision or School District Administration.EXPERIENCE: Three years related experience with IDD population
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substances. Significant, prolonged, and frequent amounts of walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting of 70 lbs. or more. Using standard crisis intervention procedures must be able to singlehandedly effect the initial restraint of children and adolescents weighing between 75 and 150 lbs. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens.
