Charles River Development is rapidly growing its Software-as-a-Service platform. We are looking for a hands-on, well-rounded FinOps Leadership role for our growing Identity Management team. The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019.

What you will be responsible for
- Drive FinOps program adoption, governance maturity, and measurable cost outcomes across business units
- Serve as the senior FinOps subject matter expert, shaping how cloud cost is managed, governed, and communicated
- Oversee cloud cost allocation frameworks and showback/chargeback models that drive financial accountability at the team, product, and business unit level
- Lead FinOps analysis functions including variance analysis, trend reporting, anomaly detection, and savings opportunity identification
- Partner with Finance to align cloud cost reporting with budget planning, forecasting, and P&L accountability
- Own the FinOps tooling stack — including configuration, optimization, and vendor management for cost visibility and governance platforms
- Ensure accurate, timely, and actionable cloud cost reporting across engineering, architecture, product, and executive audiences
- Drive continuous improvement in data quality, reporting automation, and self-service FinOps capabilities
- Embed FinOps principles into architecture review, cloud design standards, and product investment decisions
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture and engineering teams to evaluate cost implications of technology choices at the design stage
- Champion unit economics thinking across cloud workloads and engineering teams
- Act as the primary FinOps liaison to engineering, product, architecture, procurement, and finance leadership
- Deliver regular executive reporting on cloud spend performance, savings outcomes, budget adherence, and FinOps program health
- Lead FinOps working groups, steering forums, and cross-functional governance bodies
- Lead, develop, and grow the FinOps team, setting clear direction and fostering a high-performance culture
- Manage team capacity across analysis, tooling, allocation, and program management functions
- Identify and develop emerging FinOps talent within the team and across the broader technology organization

- Experience with infrastructure systems, security assessments, and security processes is a bonus.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in cloud financial management, technology finance, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a FinOps role
- Demonstrated experience in FinOps programs at enterprise scale across major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong command of FinOps disciplines: cost allocation, chargeback/showback, reserved instance/savings plan optimization, anomaly detection, and unit economics
- Proven ability to influence engineering and architecture decisions through a financial governance lens
- Experience managing cloud Apptio Cloudability
Salary Range:
