This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with Dotdash Meredith. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer. Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes. PEOPLE is looking for a writer for its Society & Culture team, to work Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST. This person will be responsible for pitching, reporting and writing digital stories. They must also be willing to write and report breaking news and cover related events. Responsibilities & Expectations
- Write 5-7 stories a day, including breaking news and longer features
- Have a vast knowledge of internet culture, TikTok trends and popular influencers
- Ability to time-manage and easily pivot in breaking news situations, turning around clean copy quickly
- Have a deep understanding of the PEOPLE voice and audience and an ability to turn a simple social media post into a buzzy news story
- Experienced interviewer and has a finger on the pulse for finding an original angle on features
