Wärtsilä's business unit in Moss, Norway, is at the forefront of manufacturing exhaust gas abatement solutions for the international commercial shipping market. We are proud to offer industry-leading technology for onboard carbon capture and storage (CCS), a technology we currently are piloting and intend to launch within a year.

 

At Wärtsilä Moss, Norway, we have a state-of-the-art research and test facility where we can simulate vessel installations of exhaust treatment technologies in various configurations. This facility is also home to our team of CCS experts, covering all aspects from sales to life cycle support.

 

We are looking for a Senior R&D Engineer with CCS competence to strengthen our R&D team working for a better future. The position is permanent and based in Moss, Norway.
 

What you will be doing
 

As Senior R&D Engineer you will be a key participant in continued research and development of CCS solutions, and your responsibilities will be within:
 

  • Planning and conducting test campaigns
  • Partaking in R&D strategy development
  • Reporting and communication of R&D results and studies
  • Contribute to external research programmes
  • Be a facilitator in cross-departmental information flows, undertaking internal and possibly external presentation of technical matters
     

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
 

  • MSc or BSc in technical fields
  • 3-5 years working experience from maritime industry. Newly graduates within the CCS fields can be considered
  • Knowledge about the maritime industry is preferred
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral. Fluency is Norwegian is an advantage
