Medical Assistant II

Responsibilities:

• Assist clinicians in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the physician.

• Provide front and/or back office support.

• Greet patients in a friendly, service-oriented manner in compliance with Care Center (CCC) or Medical Group Practice protocols and workflows.

• Oversee patient check-in by ensuring medical records/charts have been pulled, patient data is current, appropriate paperwork is in order, and charts are reviewed/prepared.

• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record the reason for the visit.

• Explain procedures, perform treatments, and administer prescribed medication.

• Oversee patient check-out by scheduling follow-up appointments, collecting co-payments if applicable, and ensuring paperwork is complete.

• Schedule and confirm patient appointments.

• Reconcile co-payments at the end of each day.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

• Active, current, and valid Medical Assistant certification.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) may be required.

• For Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.

Compensation:  $18.25/hr. - $23.56/hr. & bonus eligible
