Our Cell Line team is looking for a Senior Research Associate based out of our Waltham, MA location. Reporting to the Cell Line Development Team Lead, this person will be responsible for preparing top quality KO cell line banks for the abcam catalogue for both new product development and for future replenishment pipelines.
This role is predominately a benchwork lab-based role.
The role includes:
- Grow and maintain, clean mammalian cell cultures, of adherent and suspension cell lines, to generate final cell line stock
- Perform quality control mycoplasma testing of final cell line stock
- Work across multiple sections of the business (supply chain, logistics, project management) to deliver products to the catalogue.
- Work independently, within a team environment, to deliver products and record data within appropriate deadlines
- Support overall Cell Lines Team in various projects, as required
- Help establish and maintain high quality standards during experimental processes and record keeping. Abide by laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and keep accurate Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs)
- Help maintain a safe and efficient working environment in the laboratory, ensure the safety of colleagues & visitors and comply with Health and Safety (H&S) policies
Qualifications
You will have a B.S. in biology or subject related to Life sciences. Practical experience in mammalian cell culture is essential. Experience working in an industry setting and/or under ISO9001 is desirable, in addition to high-throughput screening, and genetics. Knowledge of CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing systems would also be advantageous.
With excellent attention to detail, you will have good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, work across several projects, and to deadlines. You will be an enthusiastic team player; self-motivated, independent, and able to facilitate open and constructive communication within the Cell Lines Team and other teams within the company.
