Coinbase is leading the expansion of digital currency into the financial mainstream. We are building a world-class legal team to support Coinbase and its affiliates as we continue to grow the company in the U.S. and internationally. You will be working in a cutting edge and fast paced environment, where disruptive technologies and unconventional thinking are the norm. Given the nascent state of the law, novel legal guidance is needed!

We are looking for an experienced project manager or technical program manager to join our International Legal team. The International Program Manager will be responsible for coordinating complex legal projects that involve a number of attorneys and cross-functional stakeholders. This person will be a critical liaison to both Product and Compliance teams, so experience being the “translator” is key where they can talk technical and functional.  For success, you will have strong hard skills around organization and taking high level concepts and working it down to actionable steps. 

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

• Serve as day-to-day manager of multi-quarter initiatives requiring coordination of a significant number of attorneys.  For example, you will build repeatable processes to track international product launch approvals, and coordinate global review of our legal / regulatory obligations inventory.
• Develop incident runbooks and other response plans by working with legal and compliance stakeholders.
• Create presentations for global regulators and external stakeholders, with input from legal and other subject matter experts.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience managing large, complex projects requiring: 
• Demonstrated efficient execution and ability to lead teams
• Mastery of the art of Google Slides, Google Sheets, and MS Excel

Nice to haves:

• Experience with regulatory change management and compliance GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools, such as Regology and Archer
• Experience with coordinating review and implementation of laws and regulations, especially for a fintech and/or public company
