About this role: 

We're looking for a creative, customer-focused communicator who's excited about the opportunity to help the USGA connect with our customers and audiences. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Assistant Manager will partner closely with the Marketing and Creative teams to support the USGA’s promotional efforts in areas such as handicapping, GHIN, course care and Rules, and other organizational initiatives. By creating engaging creative assets and effective communications, the Assistant Manager will play a key role in driving greater impact, helping golfers enjoy the game as part of our mission-driven work, for the good of the game. This role will grow along with our successes, and become an integral part of the Marketing team and the USGA. 

What you'll do:

  • Plan, report and update Marketing plans for USGA Product teams 
    • Assist in formulating and updating yearly and quarterly marketing plans
    • Partner with Communication and Content teams to coordinate comms, content and marketing plans       
    • Manage and track progress of creative projects
    • Record ongoing metrics of marketing efforts, evaluating effectiveness
    • Create monthly reports and provide updates during meetings with Product and Comms/Content teams
    • Partner with USGA Paid Media team to ensure assets are coordinated for campaigns; and Events/Experience team to coordinate signage and assets for events
  • Produce creative assets 
    • Work with Product teams to develop creative briefs for projects
    • Create digital ads to support our marketing campaigns, leveraging existing templates
    • Create one-sheeters, flyers, invitations, signs and other assets to support marketing activities and events
    • Build newsletters and marketing emails
    • Maintain and enhance USGA brand standards on all communications
    • Handle copywriting assignments as needed
    • Establish an iterative process to continually improve the efficacy of creative assets
  • Build and strengthen relationships 
    • Partner closely with the Creative team on projects 
    • Collaborate with other members of the Marketing team to brainstorm and troubleshoot 
    • Develop regular touchpoints and coordinate with USGA Product teams as part of the creative process
    • Develop regular touchpoints with Comms/Content teams
    • Liaise with external partners 

Where you'll be: 

  • This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are expected to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in Communications or Marketing
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and respond quickly to creative requests and needs 
  • Design capabilities including Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Premiere and After Effects is a plus
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Strong communication skills and creative skills 
  • A desire to learn, improve and build new skills
  • Knowledge of golf is a plus
