Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager IT

The Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the complex sourcing strategy for IT products and services at NXP. This role involves working closely with IT leaderships, negotiating with key suppliers, and ensuring that NXP obtains the best value in terms of quality, cost, and delivery. The role demands an exceptional aptitude for collaboration, analysis, and negotiation, engaging extensively with both business unit leadership and suppliers. The selected candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support NXP’s strategic objectives and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic sourcing:
  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for IT hardware, software and services:
    • Monitor contract expiration dates and develop comprehensive short- and long-term strategies for each category of expenditure, optimizing procurement outcomes.
    • Strategically analyze agreement opportunities and lead communication efforts to negotiate complex information technology agreements to achieve highly advantageous financial terms while balancing user requirements, experience, and risks.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop comprehensive RFP and non-RFP project plans, providing indirect management of communication plans, timelines, and assignments.
  • Monitor contract expiration dates and develop comprehensive short- and long-term strategies for each category of expenditure, optimizing procurement outcomes.
• Stakeholder management:
  • Foster and cultivate strong working relationships with business unit leadership, ensuring that their requirements are effectively incorporated into category and supplier strategies and contracts while showcasing the value of the Procurement function.
• Supplier management:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with service level agreements
• Cost management:
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities through strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Conduct spend analysis and develop strategies to optimize IT procurement costs
  • Implement best practices to achieve cost saving targets and stay updated on industry trends to ensure NXP remains competitive
• Cross-functional collaboration:
  • Work closely with IT, Finance, Legal, and other relevant departments to align sourcing strategies with business objectives
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency and standardization of procurement processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in IT strategic sourcing and procurement
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing global sourcing strategies
• Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environments
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools
• Exemplary collaboration skills with the ability to communicate and gain alignment with senior management both internally and externally
• Ability to influence and drive measurable change to purchasing behavior across the varying business units
