Salary  $3,076.93 Bi-Weekly Minimum. (In accordance with current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever is higher.)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Deputy Director of the Office of Talent, Leadership, and Culture (TLC) serves as a back up to the Director of Talent, Leadership, and Culture (TLC).

The Deputy serves as the subject matter expert for policy and program development within the Office of Talent, Leadership, and Culture. The position is responsible for coordinating the development of the administrative rules, department policies and procedures used for the provision of services related to the training, development, and cultivation of department field team members and provider partners. The position works to establish and implement operational policies and procedures statewide in the area of training.

The Deputy provides technical assistance to headquarters and field team members regarding training issues, which includes the interpretation of statutes, rules, policies, and procedures. Coordinates and communicates with various stakeholders to resolve training related issues. Acts as the primary liaison for the Bureau of Contracts related to participation in and guidance for ITN and provider contract negotiations. Assists with reviews and approval of training plans to ensure alignment with state standards.

This position supervises team members to include time and attendance, coaching, counseling, performance reviews, scheduling work, etc. Oversees subordinates’ work in the areas of academy and specialized course facilitation. Performs other personnel functions designed for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing needs, enhancing productivity, and achieving objectives within budget. Meets regularly with managers/administrators to establish future goals and identify specific training needs of the department.

This position supervises employees, spending the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating team member’s work.

This position participates in initiatives and other activities pertaining to the branch as well as researching trending issues for the purpose of developing new programming related to system improvement.

This position assists with the development of model scopes of service, implementation of new services, facilitating meetings, disseminating information from department headquarters (HQ) and coordinating completion of assignments required by HQ.

This position assists with oversight of the curriculum and evaluation processes as well as the delivery team to include project deadlines, quality training using the instructional systems design and the facilitation of timely and effective remediation and retesting.
