About the role

Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Athletics is searching for a Part-Time Assistant Swimming and Strength Coach. This position is a seasonal, part-time academic year appointment from September 1, 2025 - November 30, 2025 and January 1 - March 31, 2026.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions under direction of the head coach

  • Assist head coach with planning, implementation, and supervision of dryland training and weight training practice sessions

  • Demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic, and athletic progress of student athletes

  • Exhibit supportive and cooperation behavior pursuing sport programs goals as set by head coach

  • Demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with student athletes

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 1-3 years previous coaching experience required; prior strength and conditioning coaching experience preferred

  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Requirements:

  • Successful Pre-Employment Background Check

  • Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)

  • Motor Vehicle Records (MVR)
