The Harm Reduction Clinical Director of the Prevention Division is responsible for ensuring the highest quality clinical support services for individuals participating in our programs. The Harm Reduction Clinical Director provides clinical leadership, supervision and education to the direct care staff of the Division of Prevention. The Harm Reduction Clinical Director supports the implementation of specialized mental health/substance abuse/prevention and education direct care clinical services, and the coordination of clinical support services.

Location:

The Victory Connector is a harm reduction, navigation, and respite center for women and transgender individuals who use drugs and/or are experiencing homelessness. The Victory Connector Team works to improve outcomes, reduce mortality and enhance overall quality of life for individuals experiencing homelessness and exploitation, who are impacted by substance use, behavioral health issues and infectious diseases by seamlessly connecting them to resources and knowledge through navigation, outreach, and education.

The Boston Living Center is a drop-in day center in Boston’s Back Bay serving marginalized individuals in the community since the 80’s. The center has been helping to erase stigma and facilitate connections for its members through peer supported, congregate services, which aim to care for the whole individual, promoting stabilization and healthy connections through the lifespan. 

Essential Functions:

• Act in accordance with Victory Programs, Inc.’s Standards of Excellence at all times, including maintaining professional ethics, boundaries and client confidentiality.
• Utilize social work theory and practice models to inform program development and implementation, staff development and community engagement as part of the Division of Prevention leadership team.
• Provide emergency mental health/substance abuse assessments and crisis intervention services to identified members and clients in crisis.
• Oversee development and implementation of crisis intervention and de-escalation protocol for Division of Prevention clients in crisis.
• Support direct service staff who are assisting members/clients in accessing essential support services, adhering to medical treatments, improving the stability of their substance use disorder recovery, physical and mental health, and/or are in crisis.
• Create clinical learning spaces and trainings for staff.
• Improve staff competencies in serving the medical, stabilization, social and mental health needs of clients.
• Support the development of case management and stabilization plans for members and clients receiving services, from a mental health perspective.
• Provide ongoing training for staff on comprehensive documentation and electronic records.
• Provide onboarding for new staff in the use of electronic health records, documentation procedures and standards.
• Perform regular audits of electronic health records to ensure quality and to identify ongoing training needs.
• Provide emergency and non-emergency clinical consultation to program staff in person and via phone.
• Work with program clinical staff to provide consultation on complex cases providing guidance on referrals, care plans and staff coordination.
• Provide clinical group supervision to staff teams within the Prevention Division.
• Provide ongoing one-to-one clinical supervision for staff as needed on a scheduled and drop-in basis.
• Provide individual and/or group clinical supervision to additional identified agency staff, when needed.
• Supervise interns, and assist in the coordination of the agency clinical internship program
• Provide clinical supervision for social workers in process for licensure.
• Assist with the preparation of any reports or proposals necessary for program operations as assigned.
• Monitor needs of the program target populations and recommend revisions of existing service models as indicated. Review curriculums used and groups for efficacy and quality.
• Oversee development and evaluation of group work throughout the Division of Prevention.
• Maintain effective and timely record keeping systems.
• Oversee and support facilitation with program clinical staff of monthly case conferencing and care consultation in Division of Prevention programs.
• Attend weekly administrative supervision.
• Complete all necessary requirements to maintain clinical license in good standing.
• Represent the program in the community and attend program staff meetings, trainings, seminars, workshops, task force meetings, as requested by supervisor.
