The Team:

Launceston General Hospital, Department of Surgical and Perioperative Services; outpatients and theatre suites. The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) provides inpatient and ambulatory services to Launceston and surrounding areas.

The Role:

Working with a team of colleagues to provide Plastic and reconstructive services to people of Northern Tasmania and provide specialist care to public and private patients.

You will need:

• Clinical activities including theatre operating, outpatient clinics, Grand Rounds, consulting other speciality units and completing on-call shifts.
• Quality Assurance Activities within the LGH including unit/department management meetings, education sessions, teaching of clinical staff, maintaining accurate clinical records, overseeing quality of care by junior doctors.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 5 February 2029.

Salary:

Specialist Medical Practitioners 

Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging 

Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216 -$310,389 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award

• Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

In addition, the following allowances and benefit, calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Salary packaging options include a range of benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment every year
• Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $28,786 per annum, pro rata
• Subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of base salary plus on-call, pro rata) of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.
• Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,974 per annum, pro rata 
• Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.
