Occ Summary

This individual performs, under supervis ion, avariety of duties inaccordance to department procedures, which may berelated to theprocurement, preparation, distribution and storage of d rugs, as well as,provision of clinical pharmacy services according to th ePharmacy's rolein ensuring safe medication use.Individuals eligible for pharmacy technician III are competent in alltasks associated with pharma cytechnician level I and pharmacytechnician level II. Pharmacy technici an III staff must achieve andmaintain certification by the Pharmacy Tech nician Certification Board.The pharmacy technician III coordinates techn ician staff and activitiesand/or is responsible for specific advanced du ties(e.g., AutomatedDispensing Cabinet, Sterile Preparation QA Specialis t,MedicationInspection Specialist and Procurement Specialist).


< h3>Work Performed

Coordinator:Perform all aspects of the job func tions of the technicians coordinatedby this position (i.e., Level I & Le vel II).Provide leadership and supervision for the technician group in t heachievement of day-to-day tasks; assist with troubleshooting ofproblem s.Review and update policy and procedure documents related to technician job functions.Assure consistent, compliant and safe technician work prac tices toestablished unit, department, state or federal rules and regulat ions;assure quality control in the provision of services.Screen, intervi ewand recommend technician applicants for employmentProvide input, assis twith evaluation of technician performance based ondeveloped standards a nd provide feedback accordingly.Develop training materials and assure ap propriate training of alltechniciansAssist in staff development and skil ls maintenance activities.Participate in division goal planning or quali ty improvement activitiesand ensure adoption of resulting practice expec tations by the techniciangroup.Manage technician scheduling and assure t hat daily job functions areexecuted adequately.Complete time and attenda nce records for payroll per DUHS policies.Conduct and manage technicianm esupply chain management, including adherence to inventorycontrol proced uetings to provide a forum for exchangeof information and ideas.Oversees res and maintenance of non-Dukevendor inventory (e.g.,auxiliary labels, office supplies).Respond to internal and external customer service reque sts.Perform other related duties incidental to work described hereinSpec ialist:Effectively follows policy and procedures with anin-depth unders tandingof the designated areaReview and update policy and procedure docu ments related to technicianjob functionsAssure consistent, compliantands afe technician work practices toestablished unit, department, stateorfed eral rules and regulations;assure quality control in the provision ofser vices.Manage designated responsibilities while being able to shift to he lpteam membersMonitors designated activity, proactively identifies and r esolvespotential problems, develops and implements solutions toidentifie dproblemsComplete and accurate documentation supporting designated activ ities orprocedures is maintained as neededCreate reports for internal pu rposes to assist in the ongoing monitoringof designated areaServe asa pr imary training resource for developing competency inspecialtyareasPerfor m other related duties incidental to work described herein
