Marketing & Events Assistant (Federal Work Study Only) 

The Indianapolis Propylaeum, located in a historic home at 14th and Delaware Street (15 minutes south of Butler University), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to connecting and celebrating women through leadership, arts, and community. Since 1888, we’ve provided a welcoming space for women to gather, grow, and inspire—while preserving our historic home and offering cultural programs for the Indianapolis community.  

We are seeking a Marketing & Events Assistant to support a wide range of marketing, communications, and event initiatives. This role offers valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our efforts in brand development, community engagement, and public programming. Federal Work Study (FWS) eligibility is a MUST. Contact Butler’s Financial Aid Office (FinAid@butler.edu) to determine your FWS eligibility.  You will apply to this position via Handshake. 

Transportation is needed for this position.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

Support event setup, breakdown, and general logistics 

Prepare materials, manage supplies, and help keep spaces organized 

Assist with errands, mailings, and basic office tasks 

Qualifications 

Experience in digital marketing and social media 

Creative, proactive, and organized 

Interest in women’s leadership, arts, or historic preservation 

Must be a current Butler student with Federal Work Study eligibility 

 

Physical Requirements: 

Regularly required to stand, sit, climb stairs, and walk around the facility 

Frequently required to work on a computer 

Occasionally required to use force to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds 

 

Structure: 

Flexible weekly hours (typically around 8-12 per week) 

Pay rate: $13/hr. 

Schedule can be adjusted to fit your class and activity commitments 

Business casual dress 

Primarily in-person, with occasional remote work opportunities
