Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to provide air quality compliance services to our Department of Defense (DOD) clients. This individual will be a member of our EHS & Air Environment team. This is a remote based position.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Research, review, and analyze air quality policies and regulations.
- Develop permit application packages and supporting documentation.
- Work with regulators for permit revisions and development.
- Prepare and review Air Quality Management Plans, which communicate all regulations affecting the management of air emission sources at a facility.
- Review and assess compliance methodologies employed at a facility and provide feedback and creative solutions to reduce the overall risk of non-compliance.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff while managing tasks of varying sizes and complexity.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in science or related field.
- 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education focused on air quality compliance.
- Nationwide travel (50% of the time).
- Valid Driver's license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience focused on air quality compliance.
- Knowledge of DOD management practices as they relate to air quality compliance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations that implement the Clean Air Act.
- Calculate air emissions according to scientific and regulatory standards.
- Prior mentorship experience is preferred.
- Experience with APIMS and EESOH.
- Experience consulting with DOD clients.
