Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to provide air quality compliance services to our Department of Defense (DOD) clients.  This individual will be a member of our EHS & Air Environment team.  This is a remote based position.

Responsibilities of this role include:

• Research, review, and analyze air quality policies and regulations.
• Develop permit application packages and supporting documentation.
• Work with regulators for permit revisions and development.
• Prepare and review Air Quality Management Plans, which communicate all regulations affecting the management of air emission sources at a facility.  
• Review and assess compliance methodologies employed at a facility and provide feedback and creative solutions to reduce the overall risk of non-compliance.
• Mentor and supervise junior staff while managing tasks of varying sizes and complexity.

Qualifications

 Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in science or related field.
• 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education focused on air quality compliance.
• Nationwide travel (50% of the time).
• Valid Driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant experience focused on air quality compliance.
• Knowledge of DOD management practices as they relate to air quality compliance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations that implement the Clean Air Act.
• Calculate air emissions according to scientific and regulatory standards.
• Prior mentorship experience is preferred.
• Experience with APIMS and EESOH.
• Experience consulting with DOD clients.
