The Job:
As Sr. Manager, EHS Training & Management Systems, you’ll be part of our EHS Center of Excellence team working as a Hybrid employee. You’ll get to:
- Develop, implement and sustain programs within a global EHS management system including EHS training, risk assessment, document management, and an internal auditing program.
- Develop and implement a global EHS training strategy to ensure all EHS compliance and policy related training requirements are met and that aligns with our EHS Management System.
- Utilize EHS Management System Software Platform and Learning Management Systems to drive capabilities, measure and implement our EHS programs.
- Analyze, trend and manage EHS data as it relates to site and global performance against KPI’s and other metrics
- Use your creativity to develop engaging and effective strategies to effectively support our sites, meet customer needs and ensure program compliance.
- Develop global policies and procedures.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to implement specific tools as we adopt a standardized EHS Management System software platform.
- Develop and lead the implementation of assigned programs, remain in compliance with applicable laws, and continue SBD’s progress towards world-class status and reducing our environmental impact, utilizing existing policy deployment framework, for all assigned EHS programs.
- Develop strong stakeholder relationships with each site and operations EHS team, providing technical support and ensure the policy/program expectation are clearly understood and implemented, and validate the effectiveness on management system element implementation.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of our EHS Management systems including oversight of assessments, improvement plans, status reporting, and trend analysis, and makes recommendation of course correction across SBD globally.
- Identify EHS compliance risks for the enterprise, develop mitigation plans, and roll out across organization by teaming up with regional leaders, and site EHS professionals.
The Person:

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
- 8+ years of relevant experience working as in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Management in a manufacturing environment (preferably global diversified industrial company working on a global team).
- In-depth and extensive knowledge of EHS management systems. ISO 14001 and 45001 experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of EHS regulations to ensure company policies and procedures meet all requirements.
- Have strong technical skills using EHS Management System software platforms.
- Experience in EHS auditing of compliance programs and management systems. Certified ISO lead auditor training a plus.
- Experience implementing a risk assessment program that complies with all elements of the EHS management system.
- This position reports directly to the Director, EHS Management Systems in a hybrid model, flexibility is required to respond to emergencies, ability to travel up to 25% in North America, and occasional international travel.
