We are currently seeking a Security Operations (SOC) Lead to support our National Science Foundation (NSF) customer.


Place of Performance: Alexandria, VA

Start Date: Immediate 

Clearance: Not needed


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Incident Response Manager
  • Leads an IT Security team that responds to security incidents
  • Responsible for IT Security Operations and manages technical teams
  • Provide technical knowledge and analysis of responding to security incidents
  • Performs forensic analysis of devices involved in incidents
  • Investigate potential intrusions and security events to contain and mitigate incidents
  • Analyzes network traffic and identifies attack activity
  • Effectively communicate incident response activities


Required Skills:


  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Cyber Security and Security Operations
  • Must possess a valid Top-Secret clearance
  • IASAE Level III certification (CISSP, CISM, or CCSP certification)
  • Experience in deploying secure systems in government or military environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Understanding of system security concepts, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of leading teams and projects

  

Preferred Skills:


  • Experience researching cyber-attacks, malware, and threat actors to determine potential impact and develop remediation guidance
  • Experience documenting incident response activities and lessons learned
  • Experience with security tools such as CyberArk, Cylance, EnCase, HCL Appscan, McAfee Endpoint Protection, Splunk Enterprise, ServiceNow & Trellix Platform.
