Acumentrics is seeking an Associate Sustaining Electrical Engineer to support electrical engineering and production technical activities for released products. The Associate Sustaining Electrical Engineer will contribute to root cause analysis of field failures, implement design improvements, support manufacturing failure analysis, and assist with cost reduction and second sourcing support. The ideal candidate will bring practical design experience in medium and low voltage power systems, preferably within the 1-5kVA UPS range. You thrive in a fast-paced production environment with a commitment to safety and effectiveness.

Associate Sustaining Electrical Engineer Job Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical engineering, BSEE preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering in the power electronics field
• Working knowledge of analog, digital and high voltage circuit design; working knowledge of software design
• Working knowledge of AS, ISO, and documentation control requirements
• Proficient in most common PC based applications (Jira, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Experience with ERP and product life management systems
• Knowledge of LEAN, DFM, Six Sigma and statistical techniques
• Ability to work in a startup high paced company environment
• Experience using problem solving technics and tools, e.g., 8 D problem solving and 7 step analysis
• Strong understanding of the safety requirements needed to test in high power/voltage environments
• Strong technical written and oral communication skills
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident due to ITAR regulations

Associate Sustaining Electrical Engineer Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot to root-cause all manufacturing, design, assembly and test process failures; eliminate failures through design efforts
• Support component qualification for “end of life” components, new components, or new suppliers; support effort to redesign circuitry to support as needed
• Support cost reduction reengineering design efforts
• Provide technical support and training to production technical team
• Collaborate with quality and test teams to develop systems and tools to analyze production and field quality trends
• Provide feedback to design engineering and support design creation standards using insights gained from existing products
• Define staffing, tools, and equipment requirements to support business plans
