In this role, you will serve as a leader on the value transformation and payer strategy team and be responsible for leading and overseeing the growth and expansion of our existing direct-to-employer provider network and launching specialty centers of excellence and local employer-based (e.g., advanced primary care, total cost of care) strategies as prioritized on our strategic roadmap. You will be accountable for the business planning, relationship building and contracting with provider network targets as well as visioning and operationalizing new centers of excellence in conjunction with other Value Transformation practice leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate business plan, criteria, targeting and strategy for existing provider network growth in conjunction with Value Transformation practice leadership.
- Own the creation of new specialty centers of excellence from ideation through launch, including conceptualization, facilitating provider work groups, defining offerings through launch and operationalization.
- Create the network’s operating model for the strategy and implementation of future specialty centers of excellence that favorably differentiate the network from competitors.
- Collaborate with Value Transformation leadership to grow, expand and differentiate employer-based offerings.
- Engage provider targets and influences top providers for participation in designated provider networks.
- Review quality performance leveraging Vizient data assets, understands pricing and cost performance; plans for performance improvement when and as needed.
- Ensure network meets quality and outcomes standards; collaborates with clinical experts for support in performance improvement efforts as needed.
- Serve as network relations contact for participating providers in new COE and other designated models.
- Lead the development, negotiation, and implementation of broad-based network products and value-based arrangements for designated offerings.
- Lead cost and pricing efforts and programs for identified COE bundled episodes, develops action plans, and successfully implements them.
- Conduct work in a matrixed environment, collaborating with analytics, business development, value transformation leadership, consulting, and other stakeholders.
- Work with and involves relevant stakeholders in major negotiation decisions impacting legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards and key parameters.
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree preferred. Advanced degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA) or other relevant graduate preparation a plus.
- 10 or more years of relevant experience, including direct-to-employer products/solutions, value-based care, managed care, or payer strategy business advisory required.
- Experience with alternative payment models such as accountable care organizations, bundled payments and medical home/advanced primary care models required.
- Financial modeling experience with and expertise in methodologies of shared savings, bundled payments, capitation, population-based payments and other progressive payment models preferred.
- Experience with issues related to health care payment transformation and policy, managed care, physician alignment, physician compensation and sharing arrangements, clinical integration, etc. preferred.
- Prior leadership experience within provider network development and contracting required.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with C-level executives required.
- Ability to translate business needs into innovative, actionable plans and new service offerings that advance the practice.
- Experience interpreting data, synthesizing knowledge of business trends and insights from data analysis desired.
- Willingness to travel.
Estimated Hiring Range:
$156,500.00 - $244,400.00This position is also incentive eligible.
