JOB DESCRIPTION
Talent Management and People Development
- Lead integration and onboarding efforts for first year and lateral attorneys, working closely with Associate Recruiting Department to facilitate a successful transition into the firm. Help coordinate review of current integration and onboarding efforts and suggest and implement enhanced efforts.
- Support the feedback and review processes (“HL Dialogue”) for legal personnel, including specialists and attorneys.
- Assist with staffing solutions for associates and counsel to ensure appropriate legal and professional skill development.
- Manage the attorney offboarding process, including conducting attorney exit interviews and work with the Attorney Talent team to report on results and trends.
- Work with People team, the PALs, and the Office Managing Partners on initiatives to maintain and build morale and increase associate engagement and satisfaction.
- Manage and support internal and external engagement survey responses and communications.
- Support the integration and development of our visiting lawyers, legal interns, non-lawyer professionals and fee earners.
General
- Collaborate with the People team and members of other Business Services departments to suggest initiatives designed to enhance the day-to-day work environment of our attorneys.
- All members of the firm are encouraged to participate in our Global Citizenship program.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Five (5)+ years of progressively responsible experience in the area of attorney personnel or professional development, preferably in a large law firm environment or professional services environment is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer proficient with knowledge and understanding of various database systems including Workday, NetDocs, and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Ability to learn, utilize, and implement specialized attorney development-related technological databases in order to streamline the attorney development process.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with diplomacy, provide information, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, administrators, and outside contacts.
- Exhibits a high degree of initiative, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality, diplomacy, and excellent judgment in navigating sensitive issues.
- Ability to lead as well as serve as a team member of cross-department initiatives.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and change while enhancing employee productivity and work ethic.

HOURS
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Must be flexible to work additional hours.
